DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT, AND FABRICATION OF

ALL-ELECTRIC 18-SEATER TOURIST TRANSPORT TRAM

ABOUT THE PROJECT

This project aims to design and develop an 18-seater electric tram, using abaca-fiber composite technology, with an optimally placed charging station, and a techno-economic analysis. The project involves designing and fabricating an optimized electric tram, focusing on key aspects like stable chassis, body, suspension and electrical systems.

In this study, the goal is to contribute to the widespread adoption of sustainable transportation solutions across the country, enhancing environmental consciousness and enrich the tourist experience by offering a unique and eco-friendly way to explore historic sites.

Existing Intramuros Tram

Abstract Futuristic Background

Objectives of the Project

Determine the design requirements of the electric tram

- Conduct focus group discussions and technical surveys, for the expected design, functionality, and performance of the tram to be developed.

Chassis.png

Design, development, and fabrication of an optimized chassis, body and suspension system of the electric tram

- Determine the technical requirements for the electric tram

- Design an optimized chassis that is durable and efficient for operation, and develop a body structure that ensures passenger safety and comfort.

System.png

Design, development and testing of an optimized electrical and electronic system of the electric tram

- Determine the appropriate electric motor power sizing and optimal battery size

- Integrate the electrical and electronic system to the fabricated chassis and body
- Establish a charging station and determine the optimal setup for the charging system
